Who can participate?

AIMEN thematic school is targeted to young and experienced researchers already acquainted with marine ecology and willing to broaden their expertise and knowledge in modeling approach.

The number of participants to AIMEN school will be restricted, due to space limitations.

Each day 3 key lectures are planned on the following topics:

  • Day 1: Functional Biodiversity
  • Day 2: From individuals to populations
  • Day 3: Adaptation and evolution
  • Day 4: Trophic interactions, complexity and emergence
  • Day 5: End - to - end modelling

During the afternoon, participants are asked to express briefly their interests on modelling topics through a short oral presentation.

To apply for the AIMEN school, participants have to pre-register using the application form available on line (see instructions below) 

Pre-registrations are due for May 10th, 2013

Application

Applications may be submitted starting January 31th 2013.

Applicants must follow 3 steps :

STEP 1 : Download anf fill in the Aimen Application form.
AIMEN_Application_Firstmane_Lastname.doc

Rename it using your first name and last name

IMPORTANT : Pre-registration without submitted Application Form will not be considered

 

STEP 2 :
Fill in the on-line pre-registration form.

NOTE: To register you need to create an account

For those of you who have already deposited a publication in the French Hyper-Article on Line (HAL) library, you may already have an account. If you do not know or remember your password, please follow the link "Lost password ?".

STEP 3 : Submit your application form

NOTE: During the period of deposit, and until pre-inscription deadline, you can make corrections to your application: log to your account - “My Space”, and go to “My submissions” to view and edit your application form.

Selection procedure

The Scientific committee will evaluate applications starting May 11 th 2013. After evaluation, selection or non-selection to AIMEN school will be notified by email no longer than May 31th 2013.

Selected participants will be asked to confirm registration and pay registration fees:

  • young researchers (PhD Students and PostDocs) : 250 euros (1)
  • senior researchers : 500 euros (1)
  • local attendees : 150 euros (2)

(1) registration fee = housing, lunches and local transports for the 5 days
(2) registration fee = lunches and local transports for the 5 days

After notification of selection, final registration will be confirmed only after the school receives full payment of the fees. Deadline for payment: July 5th, 2013
